Solicitation is the process used to communicate for business purposes when seeking more information and requesting responses from interested vendors for potential business. This process does not guarantee an offer, and is not a clear indicator of the plan of an agreement with a vendor. A solicitation may be, but is not limited to, a request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP).
