 Negotiating is a process by which to agree in order to obtain a win-win situation for all parties involved.  There are 10 basic negotiating rules to follow while negotiating, in order to have a signed contract.  They are:

1.      Be prepared

2.      Aim high

3.      Give yourself room to compromise

4.      Do not show signs of weaknesses

5.      Use concessions cleverly

6.      Polite and show respect

7.      Patient

8.      Remain professional

9.      Keep the negotiations simple

10.  Have concessions appear more valuable
