Federation means the Beef Industry Council of the National Live Stock and Meat Board, or any successor organization to the Beef Industry Council, which includes as its State affiliates the qualified State beef councils.

• The Federation’s Vision Statement and Statement of Beliefs outline its core values and dedication to a checkoff partnership that balances both state and national interests.

• Its history helps define an organization that has performed its responsibilities lawfully and in a manner that manages producer checkoff dollars effectively and efficiently.

• The Federation relies heavily on its Qualified State Beef Councils (QSBC) partners to both provide input and “boots on the ground” to deliver nationally-developed programs at the state level.

• These councils, which collect the $1-per-head beef checkoff and maintain up to half of the funds to be used at the discretion of their boards, are the source for half of the members of the Beef Promotion Operating Committee (BPOC), which determines the budgets of efforts conducted under the national Beef Checkoff Program.
