A Host is an organization that installs and maintains software on behalf of a separate organization. The host organization may also provide hosting services. Hosting means providing 'website housing' service to other firms or persons. The hosting service provider, or host, rents disk or storage space on its server(s), and usually complements it with backup and maintenance services and full software suites that handle traffic and transaction management functions.
