Energy Efficiency refers to the ratio of consumption to value obtained of any form of energy. Most often, this term is used in reference to efforts to increase energy efficiency, though it’s measurement is strictly relative. There is no universal standard for what classifies a product as Energy Efficient, however, standards set by the United States Department of Energy and the International Energy Agency are often used as benchmarks for energy efficient products.
