Compression is the term used to describe the cost reduction for an item when using an e-negotiation process such as an RFI, RFP, and/or an RFQ. When multiple vendors are competing for business on the same product or service for the same buyer, the prices will fall. Compression is typically achieved through the use of an E-Commerce system.
