A buying co-op is a retailer’s group formed to take advantage of lower prices on products, advertising, and equipment through economies of scale. Therefore, a buying co-op is a common interest for businesses to pool buying power in order to negotiate more favorable pricing on goods and services. Cooperatives differ from other businesses due to the fact they are owned and operated by members.
