The term operating capital is defined as the funds used for daily operations in an organization. The operating capital would include all factories, equipment, inventories, raw materials, and cash the organization uses in running their daily operations. An example would be an auto manufacturer. The car manufacturer would include the factory and machinery used in production, as well as all of the parts, completed autos, and the available cash of the organization.
