The American Heart Association (AHA) is dedicated to saving people from heart disease. AHA funds innovative research, stronger public health policies, and provides lifesaving tools and information which prevents and treats heart diseases. The AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting cardiovascular diseases. The AHA was founded in 1924 by six cardiologists in New York and is now headquartered in Dallas. The AHA signature mark is the heart-check which gives consumers a tool to quickly identify the foods that meet nutritional criteria in two categories: Standard Certification and Whole-Grain Certification.
