Adulterated Food is food which does not meet the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. Therefore, the food is not safe for human consumption. The adulterated food consists in whole or in part of a diseased, tainted, dirty, rotten, or decayed substance, or is otherwise unfit for food. Also, the food could have been produced, prepared, packed, or held under unsanitary conditions.
