Field Broker
No Comments Yet

Field Brokers are sales agents who provide a service for fruit and vegetable producers by negotiating and selling to buyers and food wholesalers. Usually the Field Broker represents a large number of producers within a geographic area to bring their goods to market through the wholesale buyers. The Food Broker also usually helps keep the producers up to date on market conditions in order to optimize sales volume and profitability. A field broker is the representative that handles the selling and shipping of fresh produce for a fruits and/or vegetables farmer. For example, when a farmer harvests their fruits and vegetables and it is time to sell and ship their produce to stores and markets, the field broker will take care of the selling and shipping of the produce.
